Styrene monomer is made from benzene and ethylene. It is a transparent liquid with aromatic hydrocarbon odor. SM is insoluble in water but soluble in Alcohol and Ethyl ether. Styrene should be stored below15℃ with enough TBC inhibitor because heating or exposure to the air would cause styrene polymerized. Styrene is a very versatile compound used in the manufacture of polystyrene ,such as EPS, PS, which are used in everyday items such as packaging and insulation materials, synthetic rubber and other plastics such as ABS.
